Then Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice and wept. (Genesis 29:11 NKJV)
I really like the story of Jacob meeting Rachel. Jacob was Laban’s sister’s son. Laban was the father of Rachel, who had all the characteristics of a woman that Jacob liked. It was true love.
However, Laban deceives Jacob. Jacob agrees to work for Laban for 7 years that he may marry Rachel. It says that the seven years seemed like only a few days to Jacob because he loved Rachel so much (a woman can have a strange affect on you like that). Laban has another plan for his firstborn daughter, Leah. They deceive Jacob and he ends up marrying Leah. But, because Jacob loves Rachel so much, he works for Laban another 7 years in order to marry her.
Leah’s eyes were delicate, but Rachel was beautiful of form and appearance. Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.” (Genesis 29:11, 17, 18 NKJV)
