This morning’s reading touches on ideas I have been thinking about this past week.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV
His ways are difficult to find, let alone to follow. You must seek Him. Plus, the world doesn’t care if you find Him. It is much easier to follow the world and to “fit in.”
As we approach Christmas, gift giving is on the mind. Instinctively, we typically like to shower those we love with gifts. It is a good reminder to keep in mind how much more the Father wants to bless us.
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11 NKJV
Another timeless lesson this morning: treat others as you want to be treated.
Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.Matthew 7:12 NKJV
